The Little Town
2023My hometown is located in a small town called Pingyang in Wenzhou, China.
However, for me and my younger sister's generation, our hometown is not really a familiar place.
My memories of my hometown only go back to when I was 4 years old, when I lived briefly with my grandmother in that small town. After the age of four, I hardly ever had the chance to return to my hometown, except for when a relative passed away. Therefore, as a child, I didn't understand how a place used for saying goodbye could be considered my hometown.
But as my family always say that knowing where you come from is like knowing where one's roots are.
I wondered if that town which was not familiar in my memory was also rooted in my body.
